July 16, 2024, Alibunar. - By introducing an advanced public lighting system through a public-private partnership, Alibunar joins many municipalities and cities in Serbia that use innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. After the implementation of the new LED lighting, it is expected that the savings will be more than 1.1 million dinars per year, or 17.1 million dinars during the 15 years of this project.
The municipality of Alibunar has made a significant step towards modernization and improving the quality of life of its citizens. The project of replacement, rationalization and maintenance of part of the public lighting system brings significant energy and financial savings for the municipality.
"About 4,500 new Thorn lamps and reflectors, with an expected life of 25 years, were installed, as well as 86 lighting on and off systems. The project also brings additional benefits, including the reduction of CO emissions2 for about 1,070 tons per year, that is, about 16,000 tons for the 15-year duration of the project," says a representative of the private partner Smart Energy Investment, which replaced the public lighting.
The project improves the municipality's energy efficiency, and in 15 years the total savings in terms of electricity consumption will be close to 15 million kWh, which is a savings of 70%.
"It is important to note that this project is financed exclusively from the realized savings, without the credit indebtedness of our municipality, and that we have already saved electricity and reduced maintenance costs during the process of replacing public lighting. For us, as a small municipality, this is a significant step - the satisfaction of the citizens comes first, but also care for the environment. We will direct the money we save during the contract period to projects of vital importance for the functioning of the municipality," they say from the Municipality of Alibunar.
In addition to improved public lighting, in the municipality of Alibunar there is now greater safety of citizens on the streets, environmental protection has been improved and budget funds are spent more rationally.
