May 21, 2024, Bačka Topola - The citizens of the Bačka Topola Municipality have new lighting, which was realized through a public-private partnership agreement for the replacement, rationalization and maintenance of part of the public lighting system by applying energy saving measures.
The group of bidders, PLC Interenergo and Smart Energy Investment, financed the implementation of the project independently, without the responsibility of the Municipality. The public reconstruction project lighting in Bačka Topola savings in electricity consumption of about 70% are achieved, while at the annual level these savings will amount to about 1.4 million kWh, i.e. more than 20 million kWh for the 15 years of the contract.
Among the biggest advantages of this PPP project is financial savings in the budget of the Municipality, in the amount of at least 18,300 euros per year, or 274,500 euros for a period of 15 years.
The project not only saves money in the budget, but also brings other significant benefits, such as reducing carbon dioxide emissions and improving the quality of life of citizens. It is estimated that the new public lighting in this municipality will contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions by about 1,520 tons per year.
The President of Backa Topola Municipality, Adrian Satmari, pointed out,,This project not only brings savings in the budget, but also introduces technology that will make our Municipality modern, sustainable and responsible for the needs of citizens and the environment. Today, Bačka Topola is not only better lit, but also safer for citizens, which is extremely important to us due to the large number of people who ride bicycles.Satmari believes.
The project included the installation of 5,660 LED lamps from the renowned manufacturer Schreder, which significantly improved the quality of lighting and contributed to the aesthetics of the Municipality. This project sets standards for energy-efficient solutions in public lighting and provides an example to other local governments in the country.
