Chimneys Use LED Technology: Energy Saving and a Step Towards a Sustainable Future

The Municipality of Odzaci implemented the Recommendation for reducing electricity consumption of the Ministry of Mining and Energy by using LED lighting that reduces consumption. The project #PPP realized and independently financed by a consortium of private partners, a Slovenian company Interenergo Group, member Kellogg Energie groups, and a Hungarian company Smart Energy Investment Kft, in accordance with the Law on Public-Private Partnership. 3,954 LED lamps were implemented on the territory of the municipality Schréder, and lighting was installed in some locations for the first time. This project will result in an annual reduction of CO2 for about 1,400 tons, which means that the Municipality is taking a step forward towards fulfilling the goals of sustainable development (#SDGs) and implementing the "green agenda". The implementation of the new lighting will result in savings of at least 38,000 euros per year in the local government budget, without any investment from the municipality. The public-private partnership project provided high-quality public lighting services in Odzaci for a period of 15 years. Read more at eGateway.
